Artist Statement
Making art for me has always been an intuitive, on going process . For this reason, the range of variety of my work keeps changing, always building on what has come before. Although I worked in as a watercolour portrait artist for 15 years, my love of figurative work still comes through in my current collection of mixed media collage and abstract acrylic work. I look "inside" for inspiration working from imagination that I find both freeing and challenging. I never know how a painting will turnout at the beginning and that is exciting. Letting the artwork tell me what it needs is how I work now. Using ideas from my foreign travel, collecting bits and pieces from maps, tickets, magazines, colourful brochures and found objects, I create mixed media/collage paintings. I invite you to join me in my art journey.
