Artist Statement/Bio
I paint figuratively in series of paintings using acrylics on canvas. My style is realistic and I bring a contemporary perspective to traditional portraiture with modern subjects, materials, poses and with the scale of my work. The social themes of feminine identity as well as the influence of modern technology on our lives have been recent areas on interest.
Since 2010 Laara Cassells’ award-winning work has been shown in over 50 exhibitions worldwide.
