Artist Statement
The subjects of my paintings come from scenes of daily life - people in real life situations doing simple tasks. I have traveled throughout many countries over the years, and being of European decent myself, I am drawn to people in their native costumes in their lifestyles.
Bio
Growing up in the Ukraine, Irina Kirienko entered art school at age 14 where she began a classical art education. Irina focused on ceramics sculpture. Her works where exhibited at Galleries in the Soviet union. Later Irina changed her major to engineer and she in enrolled at Eastern Ukraine university. She graduated with a masters degree in engineering.
Irina immigrated to the United States in 1998 and rekindle her art education. She completed her Muster of Fine Art degree at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
Irina is a signature member of the National Oil and acrylic painter society and American woman artists. Irina has been selected to exhibit her works in many juried and invitational shows, and she has received many awards.
