Artist Statement
Clark Sheppard, Celebrating Sedona’s Magic and Beauty – with award-winning, “Whimsical Art,” paintings in Oil /Acrylic/Watercolor.
Bio
The most recent recognition of my art is a request for the licensing of my oil painting, “Creekside Cathedral,” featured in the New Media series Snatchers, produced by Stage 13, a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Since the licensing of my art to Warner Bros., I’ve been looking to develop a specialized niche utilizing my vibrant color palette, for which I’m famous. That ’s when I came upon an offer for a “Modern Abstract” workshop here in Sedona at the Sedona Art Center. Needless to say, as you will witness, I took this new and stylized way of painting, like a duck to water. I call it “Whimsically Abstracting the Landscape.” Consequently, I’m now painting up a storm.
Former President George W. Bush is a proud owner of my award-winning “Patriotic Longhorns.” My award-winning art has been in Southwest Art Magazine, Cowboys & Indians, American Cowboy, Texas Monthly, and TrueWest magazines. Sedona Art Studios is proud to sponsor "Sedona International Film Festival" My original watercolor of “Goulding’s Stagecoach” hangs in the “Stagecoach” restaurant at Gouldings Lodge in Monument Valley, AZ.
I delight-in the magical presence of Sedona, being ever grateful to be living my life and creating my landscape art in this most spiritual and wondrous place on earth.
