Artist Statement/Bio
"Life is full of challenges so I paint to relax and feel at peace", chuckled Annie St.Martin as she spoke about her passion for the arts.
A Rhode Island native, Annie had a special connection with the rugged coastline of New England. She has memories of a special childhood with loving parents and a house full of siblings and animals. Horseshoe crab races on the beach, quahogging with Dad, surfing Narragansett Bay and climbing the rocks along the jagged coast were all part of daily summer life for this tom-boy. Annie's children and grandchildren have been blessed with the same love of the ocean and rock climbing as their mother and grandmother. I still find such inner peace by the water with its sounds and smells. The majority of her paintings showcase Mother Nature at her best.
Forever a student, Annie has been so fortunate to study with internationally acclaimed artists. She is so grateful to her many teachers who shared and continue to share their vast knowledge and guidance.
Currently a member of:
Her paintings are in private collections throughout the USA and Abroad. Annie is a student of life and strives to learn something new every day. Her deep faith in God and her zest for life, family and friends are always reflected in her art.
